OSMB Needs Adult Umpires for the 2026 Season
Owen Sound Minor Baseball is recruiting new adult umpires for the 2026 season and making it easier than ever to get trained and certified. Through the Ontario Baseball Association’s Accelerated Umpire Clinic program, adults 18 and older can complete advanced umpire training in just one year. Thanks to the generous support of local sponsor Loretta Emonts of RE/MAX Grey Bruce Realty Inc., up to four new umpires can have their full registration costs covered.
If you’ve ever thought about becoming an umpire, this is a great opportunity to get involved in local baseball. The OBA’s Accelerated Umpire Clinic allows participants to complete the equivalent of five years of training in a single season.
The program includes:
- 12 hours of live online instruction with Baseball Ontario Senior and Master Conductors
- A full-day, in-person on-field camp
- Certification as a Level 2.3 umpire upon completion
Online sessions begin on February 22.
To help encourage new umpires to join, Loretta Emonts of RE/MAX Grey Bruce Realty Inc. has partnered with OSMB to sponsor up to four adults aged 18 or older. The clinic normally costs $225, but thanks to Loretta’s generous support, four participants will have their full registration fee paid. OSMB would like to extend a sincere thank you to Loretta for investing in local baseball and helping grow our umpire program.
Full details on the clinic and registration information can be found at Accelerated Umpire Camp – Ontario Baseball Association
Anyone interested in becoming an umpire or applying for one of the four sponsored spots can contact OSMB Umpire in Chief Alan Murray at [email protected].
We hope you’ll consider stepping up to the plate and joining our team!
