OSMB Tryout Policy
- Tryouts will consist of a minimum 2 tryouts
- Head coach will be selected and identified prior to tryouts
- Tryout costs are included in OSMB registration fees
- Two or more evaluators will be present at each tryout
- Selections will be made by the head coach with recommendations from evaluators
- Coaches will communicate selection notifications in an anonymous manner
Please note:
Any player residing within the Owen Sound Minor Baseball draw area wishing to play Rep baseball for the following season must first sign-up / try out for an OSMB Rep team before requesting a release / permission to play in another centre. In the event that we receive a request for permission to play somewhere else, and the player has not signed up for an OSMB Rep tryout, our Executive will not sign the release / permission. The player is free to challenge this position with the WOBA, to which we will not contest it. However, based on the principles of Community, Leadership, and Development, and trying to grow our program here, we will not grant outright permission / releases without an effort to be a part of the OSMB program. In the event that we are not able to host a tryout or fulfill a roster at a particular level for OSMB, we will be happy to grant permission / a release, to ensure that the player still has the opportunity to play baseball at an advanced level.
