If you haven't yet heard, Owen Sound Minor Baseball & the 11U Jr Baysox will be hosting the Battle on the Bay Tournament Aug 3rd, 4th, 5th at the Shallow Lake and Balmy Beach Diamonds...
Final planning details are being completed for what's set to be a great weekend of baseball. The action begins Saturday August 3rd at 9:00am, when your hometown Owen Sound Jr Baysox take on the Collingwood Jays at Balmy Beach Diamond (Indian Falls Conservation Area). The Essex Yellow Jackets and Toronto North Athletics get things kicked off at Shallow Lake Rec Centre Diamond at the same time. To check out the

The return of Rep / Select tournament baseball in Owen Sound will see 8 teams competing in a 4-game guaranteed round robin on Saturday and Sunday, with the semi-finals taking place on the morning of Monday August 5th. The Championship game is scheduled for 12-Noon on Monday, taking place at Balmy Beach, where RogersTV will be on site to capture the action. The teams competing for the Inaugural Battle on the Bay Championship include:

- Collingwood Jays
- Essex Yellow Jackets
- North Toronto Athletics
- Muskoka Hornets
- Newmarket Hawks
- Welland Jr Jackfish
- Orangeville Bengals
The schedule has been set to provide visiting teams with time to explore Owen Sound and the surrounding area before / in-between / after their gameplay, with each team playing 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday. There will be a food vendor at each diamond - Top Dog Streetmeat @ Balmy Beach & Big Bays Paddy Wagon @ Shallow Lake, and the 11U Jr Baysox will also have a swag & snacks table set up at Balmy Beach. The team is still looking for volunteers to help out at the diamonds on the weekend. If you or someone you know may be interested in helping out, please email

In addition to a weekend of baseball, OSMB and the Jr Baysox have been planning an event for Sunday Night (Aug 4th) @ Balmy Beach (Indian Falls Conservation). Players, coaches, and their families; as well as local residents, are invited to come out between 7/7:30 -9/9:30 for some live music and activities. Local Band - The Rob Elder Trio (
@robeldermusic) will be performing a 2-hour set, while some games / activities will be set up for parents and kids to enjoy. The tournament and event would not be possible without the generous support of our
