Our website offers an Officials / Umpires scheduling module, that not only allows us to assign umpires to specific games within the schedule, but it also makes it easier to ensure that we have all games recorded properly when it comes time for payments. The officials module also allows umpires to accept and reject assignments right through the system, set schedule availability, and re-assign rejected assignments to other available umpires.
OSMB is also exploring the option of setting up a WhatsApp (or some other form of group chat) amongst all OSMB Umpires (or umpire parents), to improve communication, and keep one another connected. This can be great for finding last minute coverage, or trading assignments.
With the season only a couple short months away, we're working hard to improve things, not only for our players, coaches and parents, but also for our vital resources necessary to facilitate game play - our umpires.
