Spring Update: Registration & Waitlists, Team Building, Uniforms and More...
Hey Jr Baysox,
While it's the time of year where mother nature can't seem to decide if spring is here or if the winter weather will keep holding on, we know one thing for certain. The 2025 OSMB season is less than 2 months away, and your OSMB Executive are hard at work preparing for the fun and development ahead. With that in mind, we'd like to share some important updates with you...

Registration & Team Building
Owen Sound Minor Baseball registration came to a close on March 15th. On Monday March 17th, the House League Committee (President, VP Operations / Registrar, VP House League, and Divisional Convenors) met to complete team building exercises for each of our divisions. For the 2025 season, we will have the following teams by division.

  • 5U - (Learn to Play) - 6 House League teams.
  • 7U - (Coach Pitch / Jr Rookie) - 6 House League teams, plus 1 Jr Rookie Allstar Team.
  • 9U - (Rookie) - 3 House League / WOBA local teams (including 1 dedicated girls team), plus 1 Rep team.
  • 11U - (Mosquito) - 4 House League / WOBA local teams, plus 1 Rep team.
  • 13U - (PeeWee) - 3 House League / WOBA local teams, plus 1 House Select team and 1 Rep team.
  • 15U - (Bantam) - 2 House League / WOBA local teams, plus 1 House Select team.
  • 18U - (Midget) - 2 House League / WOBA local teams.
The 2025 season will be another season of growth for Owen Sound Minor Baseball. Over the past week, our Registrar has been working hard to finalize team lists, and to try and add in players that signed up late / needed to be placed on a waitlist. Up-to-date team lists were sent to Convenors this weekend and will soon be forwarded to coaches. Parents / players should expect to hear from their coaches during the month of April. Game / practice slots will begin during the week of May 26th. This year OSMB is planning an "Opening Day" event that will take place on the weekend of May 24/25th. Aside from some fun games / activities / food that will be available to all players and their families, Opening Day will be an opportunity for teams to get together and receive their 2025 uniforms. Stay tuned for more information in the weeks ahead.

Uniforms
As was announced just before the calendar turned to 2025 (see article: A Message From The President - The Next Era...), OSMB has aligned all of our programming under the Jr Baysox banner. This of course means that new uniform designs are required for the 2025 season, and we're excited to share some sneak peaks below:

For the 2025 season, the undershirts provided as part of the previous Hawks uniform program have been removed. Instead, players will be provided with pants and a belt (for 9U and above). A shout out to our Uniform Coordinator, and HomeTown Sports, for all their hard work getting us ready and looking sharp for 2025.

Our Representative Teams will also be sporting a new look this year, having also made the switch to HomeTown Sports for their 2025 uniforms. Under Armour jerseys were selected for both the Home (Orange) and Away (Black) designs. The Home jersey will proudly display the "Baysox" name and player number across the chest, with Jr Baysox logo on the right sleeve. The Away Jerseys will similarly display "Owen Sound" and the player number across the chest, with the Jr Baysox logo on the right sleeve.

Both the Home and the Away jersey will also include "BD23" on the left sleeve, in memory of Owen Sound Baysox player Bailey Durocher - who was tragically killed by a dangerous driver while riding his motorcylcle in 2022. The Jr Baysox wear the patch in solidarity with their Sr Baysox brothers and sisters. In 2025, the Sr Baysox will host their 3rd annual Bailey Durocher Memorial Game, in June. We're sure we'll see some of our Jr Baysox in attendance at the game, proudly displaying the BD23 on their jerseys.
